Officials from the City of Corpus Christi, High Five Events, Jack & Adam’s Bicycles, and Ryan-Sanders Entertainment announced a world-class triathlon coming to Corpus Christi on April 14th & 15th of 2012. The Republic of Texas Triathlon Festival will feature sprint, Olympic and half-distance triathlon events, along with an expo and city-wide health and fitness challenge. The weekend festival consists of three separate events. The sprint distance is a 400-meter swim, an 11-mile bike, and a two-mile run, ideal for first-time triathletes. The Olympic and half-distance events offer a more challenging experience for the seasoned triathlete. Rounding out the weekend festival are events for the entire family, including a health and fitness expo and a fun run for kids.
